Cultural Exchange Highlights China’s National Day Through Film and Music in Shanghai

During China’s National Day celebrations this year, Ms. Hongxiang Qi participated in a meaningful cultural exchange event in Shanghai that reflected both the nation’s rich cinematic heritage and its enduring cultural spirit.

As part of the occasion, attendees revisited the classic film The Heroes, which originally premiered in Shanghai. The event also featured March of the Volunteers, a historic song created in Shanghai that later became the national anthem of the People’s Republic of China. Together, the film and music offered a powerful reminder of China’s historical journey and cultural legacy.

A special highlight of the event was an in-depth sharing by Mr. Ren Zhonglun, Former Chairman of Shanghai Film Studio, who personally introduced the background and historical significance of March of the Volunteers to H.E. Ali Mustafa from the United Arab Emirates. His narration provided valuable insight into the song’s origins and its lasting role in shaping China’s national identity.
