Beijing, 24 April 2025

On 24 April 2025, Ms. Hongxiang Qi, Dr. HAbib Ghuloom, Ms. Wang Liyun, Director Guo Kaimin, and the young cast members of Waiting for You in Dubai were officially invited to participate in an interview with China-Arab Television (CATV).

CATV became the first media platform to conduct an in-depth interview with the producer, director, and actors of the series, marking an important moment in the project’s promotional journey.

Early Media Recognition

At the time of the interview, Waiting for You in Dubai was still in the post-production stage. Despite this, the team was given the opportunity to officially announce the upcoming release and share insights into the project’s creative vision.

During the interview, the team discussed:

  • The origin and development of the story
  • How the creative team came together
  • The challenges and rewards of filming in the UAE
  • The cultural exchange experienced throughout the production

This early exposure provided valuable visibility for the series and allowed audiences to gain a deeper understanding of the project before its completion.

Producer’s Journey and Team Experience

During the interview, Ms. Hongxiang Qi, as producer, shared her personal journey—from working in a textile factory to becoming a businesswoman across multiple industries, and ultimately stepping into film production. Her story highlighted perseverance, growth, and the importance of embracing new creative paths.

The cast and crew also reflected on their time during filming, sharing moments of collaboration, laughter, and mutual support. For many members of the Chinese team, the UAE visit marked their first experience in the country, making the production both professionally and personally meaningful.

About the Series

Waiting for You in Dubai is a 24-episode short drama series, with each episode running approximately 10 minutes. Filming was completed in 28 days, and the project stands as the first Chinese drama series filmed in the Middle East, specifically in the UAE.
